Low-dimensional optoelectronic synaptic devices for neuromorphic vision sensors

Abstract Neuromorphic systems represent a promising avenue for the development of next generation artificial intelligence hardware. Machine vision, one cores in intelligence, requires system-level support with low power consumption, latency, and parallel computing. vision sensors provide an efficient solution machine by simulating structure function biological retina. Optoelectronic synapses, which use light as main means to achieve dual functions photosensitivity synapse, are basic units neuromorphic sensor. Therefore, it is necessary develop various optoelectronic synaptic devices expand application scenarios systems. This review compares both retina systems, introduces based on low-dimensional materials working mechanisms. In addition, advanced applications synapses comprehensively summarized. Finally, challenges prospects this field briefly discussed.
